Prenatal Care
Pregnancy can be a wonderful experience, but it can also come with a variety of physical discomforts. Our chiropractic and massage techniques are specifically tailored to pregnant women to ensure the safety and comfort of both mother and baby.
Prenatal Chiropractic
During pregnancy, women experience significant hormonal changes and chemical reactions that are all coordinated by the nervous system. More than ever, a healthy spine is essential for this process, as it allows nerve impulses to reach organs and tissues at 100% of their potential. A chiropractor can provide gentle adjustments to align the vertebrae and pelvis, reducing pressure on nerves and allowing 100% of the nerve energy to reach the tissues it serves.
During pregnancy, the body undergoes significant physical changes as baby weight is gained, which can lead to backache and neck pain. The body also secretes Relaxin, which loosens ligaments, exaggerating the effects of existing spinal or pelvis problems. The positioning of the baby and its movement, in addition to the expansion of the lower part of the ribcage to accommodate the growing baby, can cause discomfort in the ribs and upper portion of the lower back.
Recent studies have shown that chiropractic care can make pregnancy more manageable and increase comfort during the third trimester and delivery.

Prenatal Massage Therapy
Massage therapy can be a great way to take care of your body during pregnancy and postpartum. Prenatal massage is specifically designed to address the unique needs of expecting mothers. It can help to alleviate muscle tension in the hips, back, and neck, which can be particularly troublesome during pregnancy. Additionally, prenatal massage can improve circulation, which can help to reduce swelling, and decrease pain caused by headaches and leg cramps. It can also be effective in reducing joint pain, a common complaint among pregnant women.
One of the most innovative aspects of prenatal massage is the Body Cushion System®. This system allows women to lie face down and fully supported throughout their entire pregnancy, which can be a welcome relief from the discomfort of lying on their back or side.
Postnatal Massage Therapy
Postnatal massage can also be incredibly beneficial for new mothers. It can help to reduce muscle tension and fatigue, which can be especially helpful during a time when your body is recovering from childbirth and adjusting to the demands of caring for a newborn. Additionally, postnatal massage can decrease pain associated with breastfeeding and poor posture, and lessen scar tissue formation after a c-section. It can also promote hormonal balance, which can be especially important in the postpartum period.
Apart from the physical benefits, postnatal massage can also have a positive impact on a new mother’s mental health. The postpartum period can be a challenging time for many women, and it’s not uncommon to experience feelings of anxiety, depression, and stress. Postnatal massage can help to alleviate some of these symptoms by promoting relaxation and reducing stress levels. It can also provide new mothers with a much-needed opportunity to take some time for themselves and focus on their own well-being.
